"A Friend"
A friend is like a shade tree
Beside a summer way.
A friend is like the sunshine
That makes a perfect day.
A friend is like a flower
That's worn close to the heart.
A friend is like a treasure
With which one will not part.

"Josh & Adam K. SJSO Swear In" Josh and Adam met in the police academy in January, 2003. They became great friends and began carpooling together during their time in the academy. Everyone in their class was given a nick-name. Josh's nick-name was "Hot Rod" and Adam's was "Heavy Duty". They had an awesome time together in the academy, often telling Emily (Adam's wife) and Kelly stories of their many training exercises. They were hired onto SJSO the same day, both excited about their new careers as law enforcement officers. Shortly after being hired, Josh and Adam became room mates, moving into a small apartment on Anastasia Island. They had many laughs together, watching "Van Wilder" numerous times, playing video games, hanging out, and doing "guy stuff". Josh considered Adam one of his best friends. Josh thought the world of Adam and was so thankful for their friendship.

"Jeff Clair and Josh." Josh worked for Jeff at Kingdom Carpets. The two of them were quite the pair together. :0) They immediately developed a wonderful work relationship that blossomed into a wonderful friendship. When they would go out to eat, they were often mistaken for "father & son", which became an inside joke between the two of them. Josh worked for Jeff full-time for 2 years, until he was hired at SJSO. Josh and Kelly were very close to Jeff's family, and often hung out at their home, went out to eat, and went on small vacations. Josh asked Jeff to be one of his groomsmen in Josh's & Kelly's wedding. Josh and Jeff shared many hilarious moments together, while in the carpet business. They always had a story to tell about their day. Although, any time Kelly called Josh at work, they were always eating somewhere. It became an on-going joke that Josh & Jeff didn't really work....they just ate!

Josh & Jeff played on the Wingate Road Baptist baseball team together. They loved to goof off and enjoyed spending time with the other guys in the church, while playing games. As one can see from this picture (2002), they acted very silly together.

"Saad & Josh at the surprise (18th) birthday party Kelly "threw" for Josh." Saad & Josh met at Paxon High School, where Josh attended his freshman through junior years. They got along so well and became very close friends. Saad was asked to be Josh's Best Man in Josh's and Kelly's wedding.

"Josh and Saad on a boat trip with the Wingate Road Baptist College & Career Class." Kelly took this picture of them on the boat. Josh and Saad always had the best time together. They often went to bike week together and car shows around town. Josh, Saad, and Kelly would often go out to eat, and then go back to Saad's house, so Josh and Saad could play pool. Josh considered Saad one of his closest friends.

This small group picture was taken at Josh's surprise birthday party. It was a fun little get together. Lots of FOOD (of course) and fellowship. Josh got a lot of great borthday gifts.....he was always pleased to pull out cash from one of his birthday cards. He really enjoyed that evening. It was Josh's first surprise party. "Josh and Adam F. at an Oak Leaf Baptist Church Fall Festival." Josh and Adam met at Wingate Road Baptist Church, where they were in the youth group together.  They hung out together at youth events and often got together for lunch or dinner with Kelly & Adam's sister, Anna. Josh considered Adam a close friend of his.

"Trevor and Josh at a Wingate Road Baptist fellowship." Trevor and Josh met in the Wingate Youth Group. They became good friends, and hung out a lot during their time at Wingate. They were always a mess together; acting as boys do...very silly.

This picture was taken at Go Tell Youth Camp, in 2002. Josh attended youth camp every summer. He had such a fun time with the youth group at camp. He especially enjoyed the praise and worship times. This was the last youth camp Josh attended, because it was his senior year. His favorite part about this camp was the last night, when Charles Billingsly and the camp's praise and worship leader sang "Midnight Cry". He turned to Kelly that night, as they sang and said, "I feel like I'm in heaven."  (Left to right: Josh, Kelly, Michelle R., Jessica T.)

"Josh with friends (left to right: Isaac G., Justin B., Jason M., Justin R., Josh) on the FCCS Senior Trip (2001)". Josh had a wonderful time on the trip, and made many friends during his Senior year at FCCS. During Josh's class trip, they went up the east coast, visiting Washington DC, Hershey Park, New York City, and more.

"Homecoming Court, 2001". Josh was on court his Senior year at FCCS. Josh always enjoyed spending time with fellow classmates during school and at events like Homecoming. This picture was taken before anyone "walked" that night, to see who won "Homecoming King" and "Homecoming Queen". Josh didn't win, but was really glad that he had the opportunity to participate. (From left to right: Jason M., Justin R., Josh, Mo H.). Mo won "Homecoming King". :0)
